Simplification Using BODMAS

BODMAS stands for "Brackets, Orders, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction".

According to Bodmas rule, if an expression contains brackets ((), {}, []) we have to first solve or simplify the bracket followed by of (powers and roots etc.), then division, multiplication, addition and subtraction from left to right. Solving the problem in the wrong order will result in a wrong answer.

Example: Solve: large 8+8 ;of ;8 div 8-34/5

Solution: Firstly, the off operator changes to multiplication, followed by division.large 8+8 ;of ;8 div 8-34/5=8+8 ;times ;8 div 8-34/5

large 8+64div 8-34/5=8+8-34/5=8+8-34/5=16 - 34/5=frac{46}{5}

Example: 10 +[ 10 × 10 ÷ 10 ]

Solution: Firstly, the brackets will be solved. In the brackets, first do the division, then multiplication

10 +[ 10 × 10 ÷ 10 ] = 10 +[ 10 × 1] = 10 + 10 = 20
